You’ve Got To Do It – It’s Up To You

This is one of the most powerful lessons that an entrepreneur will ever learn – it is up to them to make things happen.

An entrepreneur doesn’t get to use the excuses that so many other people do.  We don’t get to blame others, the economy, or outside factors.

Either we produce the results we want, or we don’t.  If we don’t produce the results that we want then there is something that we are doing that we need to change.  We don’t have a moment to feel sorry for ourselves.  It is far too competitive out there.

This is a very scary principle to embrace.  It takes a ton of courage to be able to take 100% responsibility for the results that you get in your business. But it is also an incredibly empowering principle, if you embrace it.

Because if you believe that you are responsible for the results that you get, then you are driven to take massive action.  You also operate from an internal locus of control.  Therefore when things go wrong, you look first to yourself and the actions you are taking. You don’t blame others, you just change your actions.

The reality, for any entrepreneur, is that it is up to YOU.  You have to make those sales calls.  You have to work the extra hours.  If you don’t do it then no one will.  That is why you are an entrepreneur.  You are brave.  You are the person who makes things happen.

So decide today exactly what you want.  Then decide that YOU will make it happen.  If things don’t go quite exactly as you want them to, then look inward.  Look at the actions that you are taking and then change your actions if necessary.  This principle, if applied, will bring you great results over time.

Some really good points. I find it quite scary sometimes to think that it’s all up to me but I love it! You can check out my own journey right from the start here –

This is so true! I’m about to start two new businesses and have so many people around me worried that I might not succeed. My answer to them is always the same: If I don’t make it, it’s because I didn’t try hard enough! I know that the potential is there, and if I don’t capitalize on it, I’ll have no one to blame but myself. And oddly enough, that helps keep me at ease because I KNOW how hard I am willing to work. I won’t ever quit, it’s just not my nature.
    Thanks for the great read!

    1. You nailed it. The power of a successful entrepreneur is to act, despite having the fear. Great insight!
