Want to change something? Start tracking how often you are doing the thing you want to change.
Want to create a new habit? Start tracking how often you are doing the thing you want to build into a habit.
Want to start a new action plan in your business? Start tracking how often you engage in the action.
Are you not getting the results that you want in your business? Try tracking your effective behaviours, and then ask yourself the following question: “Do I deserve the result I want, based on the actions that I have taken?”.
Tracking your activities has a major effect on your business and life. If you are wanting to change something and you start tracking it, you grow very motivated as you see the number of times you engage in the thing that you want to change. If you want to create a new habit, tracking creates momentum and accountability. If you want to start a new action in your business, tracking it will place the activity in the forefront of your mind. This process will also make you more self-accountable, as you won’t complain if you don’t get the results you want because you will have evidence that you didn’t put in the required action.
If you don’t believe me. Test it out for yourself. Get a journal. Decide on two actions: one you want to stop doing (bad habit) and one you want to start doing (an effective routine). For the next 50 days track how often you do both of them. I promise you will gain momentum (and solidify the habit) on the effective action, and break a behavioural pattern on the bad habit.
