Thank you to everyone who attended my workshop last night at Waves Coffee House in Calgary. It was a great turnout and value was created for all those who attended.
Here is a summary of the key ideas for those who were not able to attend (and a refresher for those who did):
Understand your WHY. If you don’t know it then you won’t do the hard work to create systems, processes and efficiencies. If you know your WHY then nothing can stop you
Effective activity is activity that creates a result that you want
A result that you should want is a “profitable business that runs without you”
Certain actions drive results more than other (the 80/20 rule). Determine what those actions are. Build them into systems, habits, routines.
Determine which actions, habits, patterns, you need to DROP, as they are not leading to the results that you want.
Expectations: If you do what is expected, no one talks. If you come under expectations people talk (badly about you). If you exceed expectations people talk (positively about you).
Routines should be developed in two distinct areas: 1) making your business profitable 2) making your business run without you
Power habits: 1) when something good happens create a routine, system, process so that this good event can happen routinely 2) when something bad happens create a routine, system, process so that this bad event doesn’t happen again
The power of efficiency: building trust and consumer confidence. Getting out of the “price” game
